Hello Folks!  I’m Mary Jo Cross.  Thank you for taking time to visit us today.

I can see that we already have something in common.  I live in the Smoky Mountains, and since you’re here, you must have the mountains on your mind.

I can honestly say, without a shadow of a doubt, there is no other place I’d rather be.

I didn’t get the opportunity to grow up here, but my ancestors have lived in these parts for over 200 years.  As a child, we took several trips a year to these mountains to visit relatives and to go sightseeing.  Those are precious memories for me, and now that I live here, I’m able to create even more.

The mountain facts and fun that you find on this site is a collaboration of research done by my associates and me.  We wanted to share what we have discovered, by exploring these hills and valleys, talking to the people, reading guidebooks, and just observing nature at it’s best.

No, we are not professionals, but we do take pride in our work and this great land.  Hopefully, we have explained our observations to you in an appropriate manner.

Our wish is not only to help you plan an unforgettable vacation, but to share some insider information straight from the Hill Folk.
